Water and Air Conditioning

Step up to use the bathroom
(surprise in the middle of the night!)

The bathroom was modernized by raising the floor to accommodate plumbing, and lowering the ceiling for some wiring (luckily the original ceilings were quite high -- a legacy of pre-air conditioned Florida).

The water sprinklers and air conditioning were just hung from the existing ceiling, with a false wall being built just inside the front wall of the room to allow for a thermostat and the air conditioning wiring.

(Yes, it is hard to believe, but this building actually dates to a period B.A.C. -- a time most Floridians can only shudder to think about.)
