The first slide is my front yard at daybreak on Sunday, 5 September. I have six palm trees. In case you've never been to Florida or seen an Elvis Presley movie, their fronds are not supposed to point sideways like that.

The second slide is me, a couple of hours later that morning, out in the storm. It was during this excursion that I discovered that my London Fog raincoat, which I haven't worn in years, has lost its waterproof-ness.
