Besides the "spaces" on the Norway (restaurants, lounges, pool areas, casino, etc.), there were the passages that connected the spaces. Sometimes passages have as much character as the spaces they connect. The passages along the International Deck, running almost the entire length of the ship, featured stone tile, floor-to-ceiling windows, trees in pots, and chairs and benches for sitting and people-watching. Sometimes it felt more as though you were on a sidewalk in Paris (though I have never been to Paris <g>), rather than a ship in the Carribean.
Some of the artwork that decorated the stairwells was quite good. (On the Norway, one got to see a lot of the stairwells, as the elevators were small, infrequent, and almost useless. The Norway was from an era that predated handicapped access <g>.)
