The Formal Nights
The Second Night

The Penguin Gown
Judi saved her knockout gown for the second formal night. This was a black gown with a white facing. The black material flared out from the white in front. I jokingly called this her "penguin gown," but it was truly stunning.

She wore her hair down that evening, which really is much prettier.

I've mentioned that we had a dinner seating with two other couples, and that one was an Army Captain and his French mother. The mother (as I've described her elsewhere) was an elegant, elderly, fun French lady who liked to snorkel. Yep, that's her!

Judi and I are entered the dining room and, as we approached our table, the French mother exclaimed, "Oh! How stylish you look!"

Coming from her, that was a compliment! I felt so proud.

Us on the Stairs
We went to the Leeward Dining Room, and a waitress took our picture on the spiral staircase. This was something of a feat, because people were constantly coming up and down the stair, without any regard for us. (This picture isn't digital -- it's scanned from a film image.)

It was a very elegant gown. But not a gown to party in. Later, Judi changed into a green dress, and we had a great time....
